Increasing Feedback / Comments / Employee Engagement

How Do I Increase the Amount of Feedback Left in Threads?

1) Start with the Leadership.  An organization needs to make sure leaders, managers and supervisors are modeling the way - setting the example of what is expected.  A good way to do this is by establishing review criteria for managers within the job description that is measured and required.

The following is an example piece of job description criteria for leaders/managers/supervisors:

Team Leadership 20%
• Provides a minimum of one piece of valuable feedback in Threads every two weeks for a team member.
• Consistently reads feedback and follows up with relevant training, mentoring, encouragement and accountability for individuals on their team
• Completes reviews on schedule for each team member; reviews are accurate, consistent and effectively communicate employee standing within the organization

2) Send Feedback Requests.  Ask your staff to supply specific feedback through the feedback request process. You can then monitor completion and easily send reminders until the tasks are completed.

3) Require it from Employees.  Once the leadership criteria are set for Managers, you may also consider feedback requirements for employees. These expectations can also be captured as a piece of criteria in an employee's job description.

4) Remind / Ask if Issues documented in Threads.  Whether you are recognizing, coaching or at a point of holding someone accountable - documentation is key.  Documentation allows you to put perspectives and facts together, to get to the root of any issue. Threads feedback feature allows all users to capture feedback for themselves and others - at any time.  The result of good documentation - increase in feedback = increase in accurate review scoring.   When issues arise, whether good or bad, let the first question be "Has this been documented in Threads?"

5) Feedback Reminder Emails.  Threads has a feature that allows admin users to set up comment reminder emails to encourage employee and managers to be consistently adding feedback with Threads.
